Finally a blog post from moi.. Ian Gower production intern for Slattery’s Sago Saga from the sunny climes of London South Bank University. Well – what a summer it was, apart from the weather of course where at home in the hills of Hertfordshire was a heat wave while in Dublin it was mainly overcast to say the least – it was reassuring to hear that this was a good summer! However the world cup and many pints of Coors and probably the most tasty Chinese take away I have had for ages more than made up for the lack of sun. Again it was good to be reminded that this was a good summer! I also now feel I have a very good working knowledge of the street layout of Dublin’s fair city ….where the traffic is a pity!
To business. What a great time with great people, a great team, creating a wonderful piece of real theatre. I can’t really say what was the best bit, because the whole experience with The Performance Corporation or as I like to call them The Perforation Corpormance was fab and I can only hope that my contribution assisted in the production of this great show, Slattery’s Sago Saga. And how I wish I could be there for the tour even if there’s no Austin Healey to drive. If you have not seen Slattery’s Sago Saga (or even if you have) Go go go and see it, on tour, make the effort – it won’t disappoint.
I hope the new members of the cast – Aonghus Og McAnally and Barry Ward – are enjoying their time and look forward to seeing some production pix in due course. I hope we get the chance to work together again.
