We are looking for proposals from artists of all disciplines (from theatre to music to visual art and everything in between) to feature in the inaugural BIG House festival. This 3-day site-specific event will take place at Castletown House, County Kildare over the August bank holiday weekend, 2013. We are looking for contemporary, adventurous, playful, thought-provoking ideas that respond to Castletown House and its surrounding parklands. We welcome ideas that transform a space or the landscape, offer fresh and intriguing experiences, or make us see our surroundings differently. We are happy to accept a range of ideas from the intimate, to the spectacular, to participatory work. We will be making a number of awards to projects of varying scales. These awards fall into the following categories:

• Up to €500

• Up to €2000

• Up to €5000

Interested artists are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at Castletown House on Wednesday January 9th (10am to 3pm) when they will be shown the house and grounds and provided with further information and background on the festival. • A concise outline of the proposal (no more than 2 pages A4)
