We are taking to the windswept waters of a lake in the West of Ireland for our latest site-specific adventure!
Across the Lough is an intimate theatrical experience in which a boatman ferries an audience of just three people across Lough Lannagh, Co. Mayo in a wooden rowing boat.
During the performance the boatman offers stories, songs and revelations about the challenges and opportunities of life – from youth, to old age, to our finalencounter with “the other side”. Across the Lough is written by Tom Swift, directed by Irish Times Theatre Award-winning director Louise Lowe (Laundry, World’s End Lane) and performed by one of Ireland’s most engaging and talented actors Steve Blount.
The play is part of Mayo County Council’s Landmark public art event which takes place at Lough Lannagh, Castlebar from Friday April 20th to Sunday April 22nd. Across the Lough will have several performances per day. Tickets are free but extremely limited. To book, call Mayo County Council Arts Office on (094) 904 7561.
